About The Event

It is our pleasure to announce that the 15th Annual ROTARY KEY BISCAYNE WINE & FOOD FEST will be held on Friday, November 22nd  2019, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Fairways on the Key. The evening’s proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation (RCKBF) and its affiliated charities for adults and children.

In this year’s showdown, five judges will taste some of the finest wines produced worldwide. This will not be a competition between the new world vs the old world – here every bottle of wine will be judged by its own attributes! 21 wine varietals, five judges, and two winning finalists.

The evening begins with a tasty Prosecco upon arrival to “season the palate” for the wonderful wines to follow.  More than 30 wines will be offered including the wines participating in the competition.

Shari Gherman, president of the American Fine Wine Competition & Gala, will join us again as our wine director and five noted wine professionals will be judging these exciting wines: Patrick Sullivan, Wine Educator and professional Wine Judge; Wendy Rosano, Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine; Roberto Colombi, Sommelier and GM of The Blue in the Waldorf Astoria Boca Raton Resort, Delius Shirley, owner of Ortanique on the Mile in Coral Gables, Jacqueline Coleman, wine columnist for Biscayne Times Newspaper, Let’s Eat Magazine and South Florida Luxury Guide will conclude the professional Judging panel and Amber Love Bond, columnist for Media Bites, Eater Miami, TimeOut Magazine Miami, Brickell Living and a few other publications will be joining our professional judges’ team as our official food writer in charge of selecting the best food delicacies of the evening.  Additionally, the event will feature a People’s Food Choice award for the “Best of Show”.

All presented wines have been graciously supplied by Strategic Importers and will be available for sale at the event through Aficionado’s our official wine retailer. Aficionado’s, will coordinate all orders, payment, delivery and pick-up. A variety of food delicacies prepared by several prominent South Florida restaurants are included in the price of admission.

In addition, Rotary’s collaboration continues with The Arc of South Florida. The Arc of South Florida’s members will organize a silent auction and receive part of the proceeds to fund its programming. Auction lots will consist of items, including travel, restaurant vouchers, sports memorabilia, and select goods and services.

The Rotary Club of Key Biscayne Foundation has designated remaining proceeds to benefit Fundacion Manos del Sur’s educational programs in Nicaragua (Colegio Pan y Amor).

Headquartered in Miami, Fundacion Manos del Sur is a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to underprivileged children in Latin America in the areas of education, health and nutrition.

The Arc of South Florida and Manos Del Sur will work together with Rotary to offer attendees not only a wonderful evening, but also an opportunity to support multiple charitable efforts in our community. The Rotary Club is pursuing matching grants from the local Rotary District and Rotary International to further leverage the charitable impact of this event.
